British Baseball

One of the tricky points about Baseball in Britain is one can be talking about one of 2 different sports - American Baseball played in the UK or the sport of British Baseball. British Baseball is strongest in South Wales and Merseyside. The Welsh Game is administered by the Welsh Baseball Union and the English by the English Baseball Association, in 1927 the two came together to form the International Baseball Board which administers the rules.

As far as I'm aware neither the WBU or the EBA has any web presence. If you know different let me know and I'd be more than happy to add a link.

The Welsh Baseball Union generously sent me a copy of the rules. I have created a pdf version of the rule book which can be downloaded below. BEWARE because for now at least the rule interpretations and rulings that form part of the 'real' rulebook aren't included. Also whilst I have tried to proof read my reproduction of the rules there may still be spelling mistakes / typos lurking in there. If you spot any please get in touch.

Click HERE to read the rules.

I have also scanned the rules in as a series of GIFs, these don't come over very well here but if you save them & print them off I think they'll be readable ! (& they include the bits I left off the PDFs !)
